Carmel is certain that she is a princess. She thinks she is beautiful. She loves everyone and is so thrilled with every kindness. Behind her happiness though is a look of wisdom in her eyes. She has known horrors beyond what any of us will suffer. This little girl who only wants to love and be loved, was trapped in a cage and bred over and over for years. Starvation led to hair loss, she also has corneal scars, mammary tumors, rotten teeth and a urinary tract infection.

 Bunnie's hips were so terrible that she could only hop like a clumsy bunny. She longed to run and play with the other dogs, but she could only watch. She was sold by a commercial kennel to a broker, then transported to a petstore where she was sold to a person who worked in the store. Within a couple of weeks they learned that she had severe dysplasia and would require thousands of dollars of surgery. So Bunnie was returned to the petstore so they could get their money back. Back in a cage, Bunnie cried for her people to get her out. She didn't know that unless there was a miracle on Tuesday the broker's representative would come and she would be killed.
